Ich komme! 💥💣 Quick process video of the liquid charcoal portait of Erika Vikman. UMK25 time today! Time to choose Finnish representative for the Eurovision song contest. And who do I paint, Erika of course. There were other great options too, not saying that, she just happens to have appeared in my paintings a few times by now. How could I resist 🤓 Art vs Artist 2024. I was not that productive this year, until waking up from my slumber to painting more during this Fall. And yet again, now during the holidays, I have been on a little hiatus 🤓 well, I did do a sketch for a new piece and put together a new palette, after finishing of my 24 day Advent Calendar journey for this year. I think that took its toll in addition to the holidays 🫠 Overall, I am hoping for a better next year, in art and in general. Here is a curated collection of some of the paintings I made within this year. Happy New Year! Oops, I never posted my painting of Arwen either 😅 so here she is before you see her again in artvartist collage 😄 Art Advent Calendar Challenge 2024. Done. Phew.🤗 I tried out the Gansai Tambi granulating colors, they are so magical. I could have, maybe should have 😅 stopped working on this earlier, but I wanted to bring out more of the different pigments. Lady Corvo. I used one color to sketch and paint the portrait (Indigo France). I also used cling film for some textures. I was inspired to paint a more mature woman after Princessy. Princessy. Watercolor portrait painting where I created some interesting watercolor textures to the background with coarse salt and cling film. The colors this time being quite light (yet vibrant), with no strong lights and shadows, allowing for a more subtle and gentle appearance. And in the end also the color choices along with the facial features and flowing hair contributed to her being rather princessy.. :P which is fine, not exactly intended/planned, but that is what she became. Happy Independence Day of Finland! Soon watching a specific slow moving line.
