24 days of portraits, here we go again. Or did go.
I got myself an art advent calendar from a brand I’ve purchased a color set earlier, since I noticed during Fall that they actually had an advent calendar set previous year as well. So, luckily I got one although I was a bit late. I was hoping I will get nice additions to my existing palette 🙂
This time the calendar is a: Deep Deep Light Winter Wonderland set (advent calendar).
I was planning on having a have a different kind of sketch made in advance, using graphite pencils, or colored pencils, or wax crayons, with or without some shading. Or I just paint without initial sketch straight with watercolor. But I ended up making just few sketches in advance and did the sketches before painting, if sketching at all.

I did get new additions to my palette, but also some duplicates. I am not spoiling the colors here 😉 so go see the vids for what color I got and what it looks like in my quick portrait painting. The overall mood of the palette is muted and quite dark. But that mixed with my earlier colors, it gets a bit more balanced with some nice bright lighter colors.
The daily portrait practice was again quite nice, but a bit taxing as well 😀 so I’ve taken a few weeks off from painting. I did plan the next painting during holidays but I started working on it during January. I also got a few new sketchbooks during holidays in case I would try to start a sketchbook for some random doodles. I do not usually do sketchbooks or art journals, but lets see 🙂
